The original Cleveland Fashion Institute (CFI) was founded in 1938 to meet the needs of the Cleveland garment industry.  The organization was an economic catalyst for the development of garment manufacturing and retailing.  CFI used fashion shows and tours of retailers and manufacturers to showcase Cleveland's Garment District.  Today CFI is a professionals organization that represents the "fashion community" of artists, designers, educators, retailers, stylists, fashion lovers, and arts organizations.

The Cleveland Fashion Instititute is always looking for new members and volunteers.
